Our cosy guest house is centrally located in the pictouresque wine-growing town of Weißenkirchen, right in the heart of the lovely Wachau Valley in Lower Austria. It is an ideal starting point for hiking & cycling tours and to enjoy wining and dining.  

Gästehaus Heller offers comfortable non-smoking rooms and guest parking. The terrace, with its view of the Danube and the Dürnstein castle ruin, and the quiet garden adjacent to the mighty fortified church, invite to linger and relax.  

The new breakfast room is bright and spacious, and features a historic wooden ceiling.  

In the guest lounge “Schneiderstüberl” and on the terrace, a selection of drinks, like quality wines, beer, bottled water and soft drinks, a self-service coffee maker and snacks are available for our guests. Reading material, table games and a flat-screen TV are also available for your perusal.

At our reception you may also purchase souvenirs and presents, like Wachau wine, grape juice and other regional products, like our famous apricot jams, apricot liqueurs, apricot  brandy, and apricot soaps.

All 11 rooms at the Gästehaus Heller are non-smoking and feature laminate or wooden floors, with views of either the Danube or the garden.

In the morning a plentiful breakfast buffet, including many regional specialties, awaits our guests. 

In the guest lounge “Schneiderstüberl” a selection of drinks, like quality wines, beer, bottled water and soft drinks, a self-service coffee maker and sweets, are available for our guests. Here you can connect 24h via Wifi (WLAN) to Internet with your laptop or smartphone.

Snacks for your hiking and biking excursions are available at the breakfast buffet.  

Several excellent restaurant, rustic taverns and authentic Heurigen can be found nearby.

Chronicle of the house:

The house „Heller“ lies at the foot of the church and once belonged to a wine-grower.

You can admire a painting of our house from the year 1701.

Anno 1900, the former owner of the house Heller operated the 'Café zur Donauuferbahn'. During these times, the Donauuferbahn, the Danubian Shores Railway, was being built. Local people joking called our house the „Panhans“ then, like the well-known four star Hotel in the mountains of Lower Austria.

In the year 1922 Franz Heller founded a tailor shop, which Franz and Johanna Heller ran till 1992

Since the year 1970 this house has been run as the 'Guesthouse Heller', since 1992 together with daughter Annemarie.
